In the sunny town of Palm Beach, Lyre is excited to get her first chance to write songs for a well-known band. But there's a problem-she has to work with Zed, the band's lead singer, who is known for being a grumpy, cold guy. Zed doesn't want to deal with anyone, and he definitely doesn't want to share his creative space with this hopeful newcomer. He keeps his distance, making it clear he thinks she's just a distraction. But what Lyre doesn't know is that Zed is hiding a secret trauma that makes it hard for him to connect with others. Can Lyre break through his tough exterior and uncover the truth behind Zed's anger? Or will his past keep them both from finding what they need?

FINISHED Sunshine Bailey stopped speaking the day her father died. Silence kept her safe-until someone used it to control her. Now she's finally free, starting over in Chicago with her best friend, determined to find her way back to music... and herself. But freedom doesn't last. Not when her past won't let her go. Not when her new neighbor is a cocky, irresistible rockstar who sees straight through her silence. And not when the boy she escaped is still watching-closer than she thinks. Because Sunshine may be quiet... But her story is anything but. Also, sorry if there is any bad grammar or mixed up words. Editing in process. I wrote this when I was 12 so I'm currently fixing it up a bit. But surprisingly, it's not TOO terrible in my opinion. Genre: Contemporary Romance/Rom-com Tropes: Forced proximity, found family
