This story tells the tale of Gyeong-gu, a nine tailed fox. Being a nine tailed fox and protector of his supernatural realm, he's also the protector of a powerful artifact that holds the power to destroy both the supernatural world and the human world. That artifact is called the blood stone.
In bid to use the blood stone for evil, the supernatural world is at war to see who can have it and use it to enslave both worlds. In order to keep it far away from their reach, Gyeong-gu planted the blood stone into a small girl by name, Jin-joo and promised himself to get it back once he had settled the war in his realm.
Gyeong-gu knowing the danger of using a human body as the hiding vessel for the blood stone, he secretly protected Jin-joo from a distance. As years went by. Jin-joo and Gyeong-gu find themselves entangled in each other's worlds, and love starts to blossom between them.
