Orlagh, Nicasia's mother, is a ticking time bomb, as she threatens to cast war on the land. All of this is going on while Jude is ruling Elfhame from behind Cardan, causing her to stand ring on the edge of her sanity. She knows that the only help she's going to get is from The Court of Shadows, which is made up of The Roach, The Ghost and The Bomb.
