Lena Kremer receives a letter in a context where letters are extremely rare. The sender awakens in her a series of memories of a part of her life she'd forced herself to leave behind. With half the world destroyed after what had seemed like the apocalypse, Lena has to decide whether to acknowledge the letter and get back into action, or stay in her comfort zone.
A 'modern' version of Attack on Titans (but not exactly an AU), with a touch of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
