This is simply a Smiling Critters AU, I can't write that well so let's hope it goes well 4 this. idk how frequent I'll update this so...bare with me:3.

I don't really know how else to describe it, but the AU is as Follows.

This takes place strictly in the cartoon version and nothing else beyond that, it takes place a few days after CatNap put the Critters to sleep with his smoke and him betraying them by meeting Proto.

this is the new one, don't read the one one it's bad. btw pretty much everything is the same except thanks to simon (i'm adding the nightmare critters btw), i made crafty back into a unicorn and I plan to touch on that more. also the story will just be better thought out because I'm not just making it up as I go (what i mean is i was making new plot points without making an effort for them to flow smoothly into the previous ones in the last one, which is something i won't do here since i have a timeline for the story set in my head.) I also wrote out all the unnecessary characters, so now it's just the critters + anyone important to the story (say Godfrey, Elliot, Andy etc.) with all that mumbo jumbo out of the way, i hope you enjoy the new and improved smiling critters story :D

During The Hour Of Joy, DogDay finds himself trapped in a real nightmare; being imprisoned by CatNap and tortured for years. He never knew what became of his friends. He never knew if they really died, as CatNap told him numerous times during his torture, or if they managed to escape his clutches. DogDay believes his destiny is already written; He was going to die there, immersed in the uncertainty and pain of torture, unable to escape that hell where he was placed by the friend he respected the most.
