The rain has never gone on this hard before, anybody could get swept away with it. I rush through the storm hurrying to meet up with my two friends at the usual noodle stop. Quickly I turned into an alley way for a faster shortcut.
My now muddy shoes steadily splash through questionable colored puddles. An in my rush I almost did not hear the high pitch cry from the brick wall I ran buy. This sudden sound caused me to stop in my tracks. Look Back. And see The form of a little boy no older then 2. He stared up at me with his big eyes full of water that I bet weren't from the rain.

My world felt like it stopped, and I ignored the feeling of my hair growing heavy from the rain water.

The little boy also stopped crying and just kept staring with those eyes I could not place words to describe. Quickly I came over and kneeled down and took off my rain jacket to cover his unclothed figure.
"Hey their you... you- um little Goober! W-Where's your parents at?"

I was kicked around like trash on the streets. I was the book that nobody could understand or read, but without a care, they were quick to rip out the pages. I screamed for attention, but time after time, I was ignored. Nobody noticed me, so I made myself at home in my own shadow. They say there's light at the end of the tunnel -- I searched and searched for it, but it could never be found. Therefore, I lost hope as I hid in the shade and endured what seemed like everlasting pain. The little hope I did have was snatched from my arms. My baby brother was my life, and they took my glimpse of hope away. Home. Is that a word? Maybe for a family of some kind, but for me, I never had a place to call home. I moved from place to place. Unstable foster care, fighting for my life in group homes, barely surviving in detention centers, and running away from being mistreated as I made many benches my temporary home. The only thing that I was familiar with was a black plastic bag containing my dirty rags. I am too young to know what it feels like to survive. These are the cards life has dealt me and I am not meant to win; however, I easily lose without trying. It is hard for me to find peace. I am paying for my mother's reckless actions. I am trapped in a world where the sun has died because I am unable to feel love. I am unable to dream. Sorrow is my aura, and the sadness hugs me. My eyes are closed shut by the barbed wire fence from my eyelashes as they prohibit tears from falling. I am damaged. When will the morning come? Did the sun put up a fight last night, like I do every single day? If I can survive the day, I know the sun isn't dead. One day, I will awake to a glorious sunrise. Until then, I hope my brother keeps blowing his pinwheel, and I will keep making wishes with every dandelion I come across. For now, all I know is that everything was taken from me, and the only thing I own is my name.

The rain lashed down around us, the world reduced to a blur of water and light. I pulled my damp hair away from my face, feeling the cold droplets slide down my skin as my heart raced faster than the storm itself. RJ stood inches away, his expression a mixture of frustration and something deeper that I couldn't quite name. "𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚!" he shouted over the cacophony of raindrops hitting the pavement. The intensity in his bright hazel eyes cut through the grey, igniting a warmth that both terrified and exhilarated me. "𝐑𝐉, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝!" I shot back, my voice trembling, not just from the chill but from the raw emotions swirling between us. He had no idea how hard it was to shake off the shadows of my past. "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐩?" "𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭!" His frustration crackled in the air, thick with tension. "𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝!" I took a step back, feeling the rain soak through my clothes, weighing me down. "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝! 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭." RJ closed the distance, his voice low but fierce. "𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭. 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧." For a moment, the storm faded into the background.

In the middle of a raining night, the sound of a crying child could be heard. As lights got turned on in a building an elderly woman came out of the building holding an umbrella. "What is going on out here?" The woman caught the sound of the crying child, and followed the sound until she found a human child laying on the ground crying out in pain. The child's left arm was bleeding and covered in scars. "By buddha! What did this!?" The woman looked around but couldn't see anyone else around, so she gently picked up the crying child and carried it back into the building she came from. "Don't worry little one, you're safe now." __________________________________________________ ..::Warnings::..
