These are some of the names Ren Adachi has collected over the years. Being the white adopted granddaughter of Koji Adachi, the head of the Kyoto branch of the Syndicate, an organized crime family spread across the whole of Japan, Ren understood it could have been worse.
After spending three years abroad, Ren is finally summoned home. But that homecoming is to a massacre and a gang war the likes of which the Syndicate has never seen before.

Taken in by her Uncle, the Head of Tokyo's Syndicate, she is forbidden to seek her revenge. Revenge is for the Syndicate only. And Ren is once again reminded, she is not one of them. For the safety of her remaining family, she reluctantly obeys.

As she tries to douse the flames of her simmering rage and grief, Ren starts working as a private investigator, hunting down predators, missing women and a cute little Pomeranian. All a distraction to keep her from disobeying her uncles command. And no better distraction, Ren discovers, is Sato. Growing closer to Jun Sato, a 6ft 7, tattooed, muscular Syn man, who also happens to be her Uncle's 3rd in command, they find they have an undeniable attraction between them that neither can resist for long.

But as Ren grows closer to Sato, her own investigations begin to shed light on secrets long hidden. And they all begin to slowly learn, is the real cause to all this bloodshed and chaos, a little closer to Ren than any of them ever really knew.
