Ocean's semester was meant to be simple: study, graduate, and avoid drama. Instead, she's living with a bunch of guys she barely knows-one of them being Ayden Xerlott. Cocky, sarcastic, and annoyingly attractive, he's made it his mission to drive her crazy.

When Ayden suggests they fake a relationship to keep his mom from asking too many questions, Ocean reluctantly agrees. Pretending to tolerate him is tough enough-pretending to like him? Even harder. But as their fake smiles turn into real moments, Ocean starts to wonder if the line between pretense and reality is blurring.

And the house is full of secrets. Though Ocean knows she should stay out of it, she can't help getting drawn in. What surprises her most is how much she's starting to care.

Between sarcastic banter, stolen glances, and the comfort of cats and caffeine, Ocean begins to see a side of Ayden she didn't expect. As their walls crumble, she wonders if the story she's been chasing might be hidden right in front of her-wrapped up in the last person she ever thought she'd care about.
