This all started with the power going out again. If only Leon hadn't gone on that mandatory little bender with his roommate - reckless succubus - he might have been able to save his blood supply!

And now, what was a modern, tortured artist, Los Angelino vampire to do? All of his contacts were either pissed off or ghosted - by him, to be precise, and not the other way around.

And biting anyone had never been an option. Not for Leon at least.

There was really only one thing to do and that was finding a beautiful woman - one who met a very specific condition.

Walking into Rain Lounge on a salsa night, Leon waited for the right person to come in. Someone who might resemble a gorgeous nymph come to save him.

But as he waited - high hopes quickly dwindling - his mind drifted back to his former life. And though it was far from perfect - living on a plantation - at least he was human.

At least he wasn't a monster! Always on the hunt for blood. Always on the run from the machi. Waiting to be exorcised past the Ninth Gate, where he belonged.

Before he could spiral beyond control, a woman drew him away from the precipice. Not just a beautiful woman but a mother too!

In dancing with Olena, Leon found a connection that made him feel human again. And he only had to hex a few creeps to make it happen!

Now his only hope was that she might feel the same way, even if he couldn't share all of himself with her.
