The plot of the story revolves around Thomas, a young boy who wakes up in an underground elevator with no memory of his past, only to find himself in a mysterious place called the Glade, surrounded by towering stone walls. He discovers he's among other boys who have also lost their memories, forming a society where each has a role in survival and exploration. They're trapped by a vast and ever-changing maze that threatens their lives with deadly biomechanical creatures known as Grievers. As Thomas adapts to life in the Glade, he becomes involved in unraveling the mystery of the Maze.
