Blancquita

A retelling of "Snow White" set in South America.

A beautiful orphan named Blancquita is a servant to the wicked governess of the province, who cares more for her own appearance than the wellbeing of her own citizens. When Blancquita's beauty threatens the governess's ego, she sends her away, setting in motion a tale of glaciers, dwarfish copper miners, helicopter flights, murder plots and unexpected love.

I filed it under historical fiction because it's set in South America during the 20th century, but it should really be read as a fairytale.
