tucker wasnt supposed to be here- not in this crumbling town, not dragging his worn-out sneakers across the cracked sidewalks, not feeling like a ghost in a life that no longer fit him. he was supposed to be someone by now. instead, he spent his days half awake, half trying, half existing.
and then he met her.
she was everything he wasnt. or so it seemed. polished, purposeful, put together. the kind of girl who made decisions without flinching, who wore ambition like a second skin, who smiled like she already knew exactly where she was going. tucker had no idea why she slowed down just long enough for their worlds to crash into eachother.
it was bad timing. maybe it was life being cruel in the way it teaches lessons. but in the slivers of time they found together, something real sparked- something stubborn, something that felt like a beginning. almost.
