16 year old Nessie Simmons has struggled with being bullied her whole life. The reason being because ever since her mom died, her dad has been using alcohol to "drain out the pain". She has to take care of him 24/7 and when she doesn't, there are consequences. Everyone at school and around her small town notices. She often has bruises here and there and smells like she was drenched in alcohol. The clothes she wears don't help at all either, she's not the best dressed person in the school. Because of those "reasons", she's bullied at home, at school, and often times around her town. Five boys, whom she met on the internet and had no idea what type of famous lifestyle they lived, can possibly help make the cuts on her wrists disappear and show her the meaning of life. To show her that there's more to life than just to live.
