They warned me about him. A curse. An abomination of existence. A danger so unstable even the strongest warriors shiver whenever his name is uttered.
I was determined to kill him. I wanted to kill him.
Betrayal shouldn't cut deeper than loyalty. Devotion shouldn't feel like chains.
The task was very simple, really. Only they didn't include the fact that I might have to escape the very person who fought beside me for years.
There was no chance for mistakes. But maybe I made mine years ago when I trusted him, let him in.
Now I am thinking about how to stab him in the back while he is looking at me like he knows. Knows and would rather let me stab him a hundred times than let me go.
(It's a short story. So, the ending doesn't cover the whole story and ends with a minor cliffhanger.)
