Ember is healing but she's not the focus of the story right now. Shredder wants New York and will do anything to get it. He's done chasing the turtles from now on if they get in his way he will take care of the problem permanently.

Moving on this story is about two girls he buys from the Kraang. He has agreed to let them experiment on humans as long as they don't get in his way and give him what he wants. Nicki is a troubled girl who is in and out of jail but isn't alone in her fight for freedom. Life is difficult at the moment for her but when her friends and others get involved she has no choice but to act. Her backs against the wall and she has no option but to fight...for what...for everything. A storm has started to brew in a distant forest, causing living things to melt into mindless monstrosities. The infection taints anyone who comes into contact with the creatures, infecting them with the same disease. Matters get worse as the turtles return home to find that the storm originated from New York City. Everywhere they turn, there are hundreds of innocent people who were taken captive by the mysterious rain. And without a fix, this may be a race to save lives that they can't win. "I hate you, too." Ember is seventeen and has no idea of who she is or where she came from all she has is a number and a smelly old orphanage to call home. She tries escaping and ends up meeting the turtles especially Raph. But shredder wants her for more then the location of the turtles, no, the picture is much bigger than that here in the big apple and she struggles to find out what is going on. Book one of a two to three book series.
