Each morning, Hazel endures verbal and physical abuse from her father, who is quick to punish her for even minor infractions. Her mother, though sympathetic, often sides with her husband, leaving Hazel feeling isolated and unloved. Despite her challenging home life, Hazel finds solace in her friendship with Rose, a classmate who lives in a loving and supportive household. Rose's family, including her famous actress mother Scarlett and comedian father Colin, offer a stark contrast to Hazel's situation. When Rose invites Hazel to a movie night at her house, Hazel eagerly accepts, hoping for a brief escape from her turbulent home life. However, Hazel's attempt to go to Rose's for the weekend is thwarted when her father angrily refuses her request, furthering her sense of despair. She fabricates a story about going to the library and sneaks out of her house, driven by the need to find some comfort and safety. When Hazel arrives at Rose's home, she is warmly greeted, but she struggles to hide the fear and sadness that linger beneath her brave facade. Rose and her family, recognizing the depth of Hazel's pain, resolve to support her and provide a safe space where she can begin to heal. The story highlights Hazel's bravery in the face of adversity and the profound impact of compassionate friendship and family support.
Living A Lie (MCU/Shameless crossover) by youngblood2354

Darcy Lemons was a girl that simply didn't have the life most kids her age had. She was sixteen, she lived in a crappy house, and she was raising her little sister as if she was her own child. Life just didn't have much in store for Darcy, especially since she never knew who her father was. When Darcy was four, she found out that her mother's boyfriend wasn't her father. Then it seemed her mother just got with every guy after that to cover up the fact that Darcy wanted to know the truth. On her sixteenth birthday, Darcy's mother came home from the hospital with a baby. She handed the baby to Darcy and said "happy birthday," and that was how the girl ended up with the child. Her mother was never home, and the one guy that her mother had been with that had even tried raising Darcy with some parental advice was in jail. So, similar to the lyrics quoted from that Young Jeezy song, "My momma ain't at home, and daddy still in jail," that was how her life was - except obviously, that man wasn't her real father, he just raised her for a bit, like a real father would, before he went to jail. Two months after Ariel was born, Darcy's mother moved them to a crappy house where Darcy knew absolutely no one and had no idea where anything was. Darcy was so stressed out, trying to get through school, raise a baby, and have enough money to pay for both of them. The only bright side was that her mother paid rent and utilities with her disability checks every month. Darcy was growing more and more tired of the terrible situations her mother was putting them in. She needed to fix things and give the baby a better life than she ever had. The only problem was, she wanted to find our who her father was first. She just hadn't expected the one man who everyone knew as a playboy would be her father...
