I rubbed my forehead "he's my clone! Of course he's just like me," I answered. She smiled and laughed "now it's your turn to clean up after yourself. It's fun being a parent isn't it?" She said.

If he clones himself he can live the life he wanted through James, his clone. He can give himself a second chance to be what he could never be. I felt his gentle hands wrap around me and pull me in closer. Our foreheads touched as he whispered the faithful words, "I'm sorry." I pulled away from him, making sure I didn't cut myself on the sharp shards of glass. "Did it go back to the way it was before?" I asked him, angry tears rolling freely down my face now. How could he do this to me? I am--was--his mate. He looked at me with a sad expression and then looked down. Strangled, he whispered, "No." "Do you understand now how my heart broke when I found out? Do you get it now?" "Jace, I'm--" "Don't even!" I yelled. I couldn't take this anymore. "Leave!" I screamed, letting my tears fall to the floor. He looked at me with a painful look.
