Mallory Pierce is the most annoying girl at Concord High School. She's a loud, abrasive know-it-all, who thinks she's better than everyone else.

Nick Harriton is the Quarterback of Concord's football team, bound for the University of Michigan. He's handsome, popular, smart, and secretly musically inclined, though he doesn't want anyone to know it.

When they're paired together for their senior class internship through chance, bad luck, or fate, to help direct Concord Middle School's fall musical, neither knows what to do. Nick can't stand Mallory; he's hated her from the moment he met her. But Mallory's spent years secretly crushing on Nick, hoping he'll finally notice her.

If they want to make the grade, the two must work together to direct the most show-stopping production of Beauty and the Beast Concord Township's ever seen.

Nathan Baker hates Julian Cruz. He hates his snarky attitude, he hates how overly confident he is, but most of all--he hates how good he is at football. He hates how stupid Roosevelt High school took home the championship trophy and the way the stupid rival team picked up his stupid rival, chanted his stupid name while he looked at Nathan with a stupid grin. Yep, Nathan hates him. But this year is his year. He's the captain of the Cortland Foxes football team, he's the starting quarterback, and he finally is back on good terms with his on and off girlfriend, Veronica. Senior year is the year. That is until on the first day of training the coach introduces someone who, in fact, does not need an introduction and Nathan almost explodes with anger on the spot. The feeling of hatred is very much mutual for Julian Cruz. He hates Nathan Baker with every fiber in his body. He hates his Hollywood attitude, he hates how rich he is, but greater than all--he hates how good he is at football. Sure, Julian had made the lucky catch and managed to make the final touchdown of the championship game and win, sure, he was praised as a God for the rest of that school year and got scouted by a couple college coaches. But none of that matters now that he and his Mom have gotten kicked out from their apartment and the only place they could find is too far to continue his laid-back life at Roosevelt High. It doesn't matter anymore because now he is forced to go to the one school in the world he would never have chosen if given the chance. Cortland High school, home of the foxes and his worst enemy. Well, since they're on the same team now they have to reach some sort of compromise...right? Who knows, maybe, just maybe, they'll like each other more than either of them though.

Meet Tanner Bailey, the typical college jock-towering, broad-shouldered, and always dressed in a tight-fitting letterman jacket that seems like it's barely holding in his inflated ego. His chiseled features and confidence make him the envy of his teammates and the object of many students' admiration, but behind that athletic exterior lies a personality as sour as his smirk. Tanner is the type of guy who relishes in making others feel small, using his popularity and physical prowess to intimidate and belittle anyone he deems beneath him, which is practically everyone. To him, the world revolves around his needs and desires, and anyone who doesn't fall in line is just another target for his bullying. Beneath the surface, he hides a deep insecurity, but he'll never let anyone see it-not if he can keep up his act as the school's golden boy. Meet Harper Avery, a force to be reckoned with-brilliant, beautiful, and always in control. With striking features that could stop traffic, she's the girl everyone notices when she walks into a room. Her style is impeccable, always dressed to impress, and she carries herself with a confidence that turns heads and commands attention. But Harper isn't just a pretty face; she's one of the smartest people you'll ever meet. Top of her class, she excels in everything she puts her mind to, whether it's academics, debate, or any of the numerous clubs she leads. Harper is ambitious, and she knows exactly what she wants in life. She's not afraid to push others to meet her high standards, which can make her come off as bossy or even ruthless at times. Some find her intimidating, and there's no denying that she can be demanding. Tanner and Harper had always been on opposite sides of the schools social spectrum- she couldn't stand his entitled attitude, and he couldn't bear her constant need to prove she was better than everyone else, especially him. To outsiders, they were natural-born enemies, two forces destined to oppose each other.

I chuckled slightly and shook my head. "Does that usually work for you? The cute little remarks and that nice smile." I teased. He gave me a sheepish look of surprise. "Most girls would be flattered at my attempt to flirt with them." I scoffed and shook my head. "Well, as a member of the "most girls" community, I can say that I am not." "Wow. That's a bit harsh." He gave me a smug look and crossed his arms. "Sorry," I shrugged. "I'm immune to boy charms. In fact, I think I'm allergic." "Well, don't think so highly of yourself. Just because you have cute dimples and a pretty face, doesn't mean I find you attractive." ------------------------------ Maya Cameron is a senior at Ohio State University and this is the year where you need to get your life together before you get pushed out into the real world. Writing is the only thing that keeps her sane after all of the trauma she's been though. With her mom and dad's unfortunate death, she's been left under the care of her evil step-aunt and forced to stay with her annoying step-cousin. As if college isn't stressful enough. And then there's this other guy in her life. They met online by accident and have been talking for months but she's not brave enough to make it something real. Will Ashby is the all-around superstar on campus. He's practically royalty because he's the running back on the Ohio State Football team: one of the best college football teams in America. Will is the person guys want to be and guy girls want to be with. But in actuality, he'd rather blend in with the background noise. His only focus has been football and finishing his degree. That was until he met this girl. He doesn't even know her name or what she looks like, but she's the girl he'd want to be real with. Because of circumstances, Will needs an English tutor or he won't be able to play. And much to her dismay, Maya is the perfect person for the job. Started: January 2021 Completed: October 2021

"I would kill for that role." During audition season, the theatre geeks at Whispering Hills Country Day School repeat that sentiment over and over. But for senior Hannah Cross, killing for a role might be a reality thanks to her best friend Skylar. Just as everything in her world is falling into place, Hannah finds herself in the biggest dilemma of her young life. She's crushing it at school. She's just been accepted at NYU. She's dating Brody Wolcott-the hot jock she's had a crush on since freshmen year. And most importantly, Hannah is finally stepping out from under queen bee Skylar's shadow. So, Hannah really didn't need to be involved in a hit-and-run accident, a crash that left musical favorite Zoe in a coma and fellow classmate Will dead. And if Skylar took care of any suspicions, why are the police at school asking questions? And what will happen if the detectives connect this accident to what happened upstate at theatre camp...with Katie Greco? Can Hannah escape Skylar's manipulation and the mistakes of her past? Does her moral compass point true North when she could lose everything? Readers of Megan Abbott's Dare Me and Pretty Little Liars will love STAGECRAFT. STAGECRAFT is Glee meets Heathers meets Prep. This noir YA thriller features strong female characters, authentically illustrates the world of the high school musical, and takes a hard look at emotionally abusive relationships among teen girls.
