The world is entombed in ice. The sun has vanished, leaving only darkness, where shadows awaken with glowing red eyes and an insatiable thirst for human blood. Amidst the storm, a girl is born-a girl named Storm.
Twenty years later, on New Year's Eve, the shadows strike Storm's home, sparing only a few. With her little sister Freiya by her side, Storm leads the survivors to seek refuge in a new place, a new home.
