It's about a small group of kids classified as "Starbearers" and they have that identity, because they all have a star mark on a random part of the body. If they are found, then they are captured and taken to a place where they suffer until they die. Daisy is ten (she gradually gets older) and from Lexington, Kentucky. She lives with her little brother, Aiden Smart, and her parents. Her parents favor Aiden more and ignore their daughter's mental health needs. One day, Daisy is not able to control her actions, leading to her family's deaths. She runs away and meets a seven year old named Maya, who was abandoned as a baby due to her mark. Maya is very mature for her age and helps Daisy. Maya tells her about the star mark and Daisy discovers it on her back. Maya tells her everything about the Starhunters and Starbearers, making Daisy very angry and upset. Daisy promises Maya that she will change this fucked up world, but will she? (I want to make a sequel for this, but idk what to write about in that yet. That's where everyone in my childhood friend group will be in. In this one, there's only half of them.)
