"I can still get killed Eddie." I said lowering my voice.

"Yes, but you have a better-"

"A better chance of getting hurt." I said cutting him off and glaring at him. "And besides, you know I don't fight in the front lines."

"If you want your cut, you will." I growled that jackass.

If you were to turn our sick lives into a book, Matilda Sailor would have been the protagonist. She had all the the aspects of a leader, brave, strong, and clever. Between the both of us, she had more of a reason to live. She had family members who had survived the first wave and yet, I had no one, but her. She was my best friend and as I ran away listening to her helpless screams, I couldn't help but wonder, what happens when the main character of your book dies before the story even begins?
