After being dragged to Hell in an event he's unable to recall, a young man with no memory of his former life and a spirit inside of a demon warrior who long ago died becomes the first Makai Knight of Hell in over thousands of years. Armed with a powerful suit of armor that has no shine to it, he finds himself in a battle against the Horrors, demon beasts from a world levels below, who desire to consume the souls of sinners and hellborn alike and take over Hell itself. As he struggles to act as a protector, he'll be faced with the additional challenge of confronting his past, in the form of a plucky young princess of hell whom he once sworn his life to and her impulsive spear wielding girlfriend.
