Ron is a family man who despite the murder of his son by the doctatorship, manages to write kids' stories with happy endings. Bruno's mom was murdered by the doctatorship too, and Ron is flying up to Seattle to help him get a signature on a form, a form that Bruno needs to finalize probate for his mom's estate.
