"May I ask you something?" tone tinged with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. "However, you have to be straight with me. Is that possible?" There was a moment of silence, as if the air itself held its breath, waiting for the other girl's response. Finally, breaking the tense stillness, the other girl spoke calmly, her words measured and deliberate. "I will be as honest as I have ever been."
     "What did you lose?" I say, barely a whisper, but Anära'ki still somehow picked it up from the somber tone of my voice.
     "Answers." The word echoed in the silence that followed, drawing out the profound sense of loss and longing that permeated the space between us.
