In a future London divided by rising sea levels and social unrest, genetic modification has become a new method of self-expression and in some cases, of survival. Faizal, a young man who arrived to London with his family as a refugee when England collapsed, becomes fascinated by the possibilities of the new mods and their experiments with body modification and genetic engineering after meeting Sarah, a charismatic activist from the mod subculture. As racist, anti-mod sentiments increase, the two begin their adventures and lives together.
The New Mods explores themes of social progress, cultural identity and depicts a speculative vision of London in the year 2051, after the world keeps heating up and messing up as it has been doing so far.
