Deadpool is hired to get rid of a man named Peter Parker, awkward, capable of studying boring chemistry books for hours, with a head full of shiny brown curls and eyes that betray his intelligence. Not his normal target, but money is money and apparently Petey has been a naughty little scientist.
Peter has been struggling to focus on his homework lately, between his Aunt May's recent death, his internship at Medaware taking a dark turn, having less and less time to go out as Spiderman, and to top it all off for the past few days he has the uncanny sense that he's being watched and it never stops.
Peter's going insane, battling grief, struggling to keep his grades up, unable to get his energy out with a good fight or two.
Then there's the flicker of red and black in his peripheral in the moments his guard slips. When Peter- as Spiderman- is offered a deal that seems too good to be true, he says no without a thought.
Aunt May used to tell him "Patience is bitter, Peter, but her fruit is sweet." which was always her kind way of telling him to slow down and think before acting on his impulses.
It's most likely that Peter is about to have a mouthful of tart fruit for his choices.
