Maxinne is a straight-A student with a tuition problem. Between her part-time jobs that barely cover the essentials, she's come up with a solution-rehoming Mr. Fuzzypants, her adaptable (and surprisingly profitable) cat, to clueless wealthy people. It's not unethical. She tells herself-it's strategic. Rich people love novelty, and Maxinne needs the cash. Everyone wins, right?

It's a foolproof system. Until it's not.

This time, the buyer isn't some clueless elite she'll never see again. No, this time it's Rafe Bentley-star athlete, all-around bad boy, and a walking definition of everything Maxinne's not. He's used to getting whatever he wants: top grades, the attention of girls, and game-winning goals. Life, for him, is one giant cheat code. He has money, looks, and talent, and he's not shy about flaunting it. He's also annoyingly too interested in her business. Which, at first, is whatever-until it isn't.

When the deal goes south, Mr. Fuzzypants end up stuck in the middle. And that's when everything goes sideways.

What starts as an accidental collision between two very different worlds quickly turns into something neither of them saw coming. As the cat situation spirals out of control, Maxinne finds herself tangled in a mess of her not so shady business (maybe?), rich-boy problems, and the guy who, for reasons she can't figure out, won't leave her alone.
