Now if you actually thought this story was over, I'm sorry to inform you, it's not.

This is book Two, of Wake Up. And Wake Up holds a special place in my heart so I couldn't just leave it on such a unsatisfying ending.

------------

Damon Le'Odair died almost four and a half years. He died from a gunshot wound to the back of his head, from his father, Roman Odair, who was killed by Aaron Hotcher. Damon died in the same house he grew up in and watched his mother die in, then himself.

The BAU team had a funeral for him and mourned his death. Getting back to work was weird without Damon there, sitting at the end of the table or next to the girls or Spencer.

But when Hotch presented a case to the team, a case that shouldn't even be a case, the team didn't want to do it. Aaron Hotchner wanted to take down, the head of the CIA, Ryan Milkovich. Put him in prison.

And when Hotch starts getting information that only someone from the inside would know, the team starts getting suspicious of why they're really working on this very dangerous, career ending case.

And if it's worth it?

After leaving the BAU without a word to anyone but Hotchner, Addy went back to the only home She'd ever known, Brookes memorial. Hospitals were for healing after all, weren't they? After spending a month recovering physically while wallowing in her mothers bed, Addy finally got back to work, saving people, the only thing she knew how to do in the hopes she could save herself. After three months of silence with the team, with Spencer, in the middle of surgery she looks up to see his face in the gallery watching. Deep down, knowing it's time she seeks him out to set the records straight, because what else can you do? "I swear I didn't know you were working here again. We uh, we had a case. I was looking for an Intern and I just thought I'd watch for a minute when I saw it was you." He put his head down barely looking at me, like he couldn't look at me. "You look like shit." I sighed watching his head perk a bit. "Thanks, I appreciate the observation." He was definitely being sarcastic. He just sounded off. "How's JJ? The baby okay?" His head shot up staring at me confused a moment before speaking. His entire body seemed to tense up. "Did Emily tell you about it?" I just shook my head. "No, JJ did. I'm happy for you two, really I am. If you're busy with a case I'll leave you alone, I just thought maybe we could talk." I put my head down going to turn away before I felt his hand on my arm. "Addy, I, I just don't understand, why didn't you just talk me?" I sighed taking his wrist in my hand and walking him silently to an on call room. Once the door was closed I watched him sit down on the chair hanging his head in his hands. "I was hurt Spencer, actually no, I was devastated." I watched his face change as my pager went off stopping me from continuing. "Shit, Spence I have to go, someone is coding."

Aaron Hotchner x OC "Dani. Are you hurt?" Emily asked. Hotch let go of you and his eyes roamed up and down your body. "No, no, I'm fine. It's the victim's blood. Half of him was propped up in the closet and he fell on me. The other half was down stairs. It's not consistent with the profile he wasn't posed like the others. This was for me. He wanted me to find him." You said to Emily. She nodded but looked at Hotch. "I think that you are right, Dani. Let's head back and the forensics team can handle this." He said, opening the door. You followed out to the SUV and got in the front seat. Emily stayed at the scene as other police cars pulled up. You shut the door and looked out the windshield. Hotch got in the seat and turned on the ignition. He started to drive and went right past the precinct. "You missed the turn." It wasn't a mistake, you knew that. "Hotch..." "I don't want you to go back there." He admitted. "Why? He's surrounded by fifty other people and he can't do anything." You looked down. "You feel threatened. Your hand has been on your gun since we left. You have been checking the mirror every-" "Stop." You cut him off but he kept going. "You haven't cleaned the blood off your face or body but your hands. You think that this is your fault for not seeing it sooner-" "STOP." You yelled. "We made a promise. We don't profile each other. You know that! It's low, so low, and invasive and-and" He pulled over and stopped the car. "Just please..." "What? Please what?" He said. This time holding eye contact. "Please don't do this to me. Not you."
