When we all arrived Nick Goode started to speak. "This isn't how I wanted to be here tonight. I wanted to be here as a fan. Our Sunnyvale Devils and your Shadyside Witches throwing down some good old American football. Instead I find myself here as a husband, a father, as a neighbor. And, yes, mayor of Sunnyvale. And on behalf of all of the people in my town, I say all of Sunnyvale mourns with you."

My friend Anna turned to me. "How boring is this shit? The bitch is dead, get over it." Is she kidding? I turned to her and wanted to slap her.

"Say that again and you'll be next." I replied, she looked at me and put her head down. Not saying a word.

I sighed as I looked around the crowd. Deena was walking away and I could see Sam walking behind her. For gods sake. As I turned to look back at Nick Goode speak, I caught eyes with Simon...

Shit!

"Look away! Look away!" I kept telling myself, but I couldn't.

"My family's been in Sunnyvale for generations, and now my brother is mayor and I your sheriff. We've prospered-"

I wasn't even listening to Nick Goode. I was just looking at Simon. He was wearing this ridiculous witch outfit with a green face. It made me laugh though, and he saw that.

"Say that again, motherfucker!" All of a sudden people were fighting. I tried to move away from the crowd but I got pushed down by someone getting pushed. For fuck sake. Before I could attempt to get up myself I could feel someone grabbing my arm and gently helping me get up.

I looked up and saw him, Simon.

"You okay?" He asked. For crying out loud, him asking if I was okay made me blush.

"Yes, I'm fine." I replied. He nodded his head, ran to the guy to pushed me down and whacked him with his broom. When he turned around he flipped him off and ran.

"You little green prick!"

As I was watching Simon run away, Sam grabbed my arm and we ran back to her boyfriend's car.
