Can't I Love You?

"Hi. I'm Samantha Maxine Tan." She held her hand in front of me as I hold my breath. She had those smiles that I haven't seen for years. But her eyes are different. She is looking at me as if she hasn't met me before. She seems like she doesn't recognize me at all.

"What's the problem, Samantha? It's me, Hyker." Sigaw ng utak ko.

She cleared her throat and put her hand down ng hindi ko to tinanggap. Hindi nawala ang ngiti sa labi nya at tiningnan kaming lahat na nakapokus ang mga mata sa kanya. "Sorry for suddenly intruding in this meeting. I heard our batch is going to have a reunion soon so I might as well join..uhm.. well, eventhough I don't remember anyone or anything." She ran her fingers through her long hair while I heard gasps from our fellow batchmates.

Our memories started to flood inside my mind and that familiar pain stabbed my heart again.

"Stop pestering me with your complaints about them. I don't need any of those anymore, Samantha. Just please stop."

"Samantha, leave me alone. You don't know how hard it if for me to handle things like this."

"Its better if we give space to each other."

"Don't go near me anymore. I might as well be with them, Samantha. I hope you understand."

Ten years kong pinagsisihan yung mga sinabi ko sa kanya. Ten years akong naghhintay para magkita kami ulit at humingi ng sorry sa kanya. Finally, this chance came. But she can't remember a single thing.
