꒰ An alternate retelling of the Orpheus & Eurydice myth♡ ꒱

Orpheus and Eurydice were destined to be together, ruling the heavens as the Sun and Moon since the creation of the stars. Each night, Orpheus sacrificed himself so his eternal lover could breathe. But one fateful night, a stray star collided with Eurydice, causing a piece of her to break off and hurl towards Earth. Orpheus, asleep and unaware, awakens to the disastrous sight. Determined to restore her, he breaks a piece of the Sun and ventures to Earth.

Over the centuries, Orpheus travels among mortals, moving from country to country in search of Eurydice. Every 100 years, both he and his lover are reborn, forcing him to restart his search each time. Finally, in the foreign lands of Greece, he encounters a woman of such ethereal beauty that, with one glance, he knows he has found his Eurydice at last.
