Yes, it is sad...

I am not prone to drama like the rest of you.

Our lives are encompassed with monotonous events, the usual really: eat, sleep, work, repeat.

But honestly, am I complaining?

I can, I could have...

But the question remains, do I even have the energy to spark up a fire?

We could be flowers, adorning ourselves to appear more attractive for the bees' ocellus.

Or glow brighter than the sun to entice.

But why go through all that hustle when we can just live through the eyes of another? Seems simpler enough anyway.

Suck the adrenaline rush of the stunners. The ones that even with just a sneeze, the entire earth would shake, sprinting towards them.

Their being, the forbidden tree, strutting at the centre of the Garden of Eden. Their souls, Magnetite.

We could attempt.

But I do not want to.

I try as much as possible to stay away from the disease.

As thrilling as it may be:

he who will swallow the apple seed must consider the size of his stomach.

So why spend a thousand back-breaking years thereafter mopping up the residue?

Have the moles drag down your name into the pits with them.

Surely, we are not that desperate, are we?

Never eye the wife of thy neighbour in fear that she just might be a white fowl with beautiful feathers.

So why can I not just stay in my lane?

Why can't we?

So join in, enter my mind and live out your most exciting reality through the eyes of others.

Read it, watch it, envision it. Better than allowing life to feed us up with a spoon of chaos, attracting a series of tornadoes into our mundane worlds.

And maybe, we might just fall in love.

The whole camp was filling with smoke. I coughed, praying that my lungs would keep working for just a few more minutes. "Eli, which way is west?" Adam's breathing was just as labored from physical exertion, smoke, and panic as mine was. I didn't even process the question. I didn't know. We couldn't see anything through the smoke because the fire was spreading so quickly, and I just realized I'd forgotten my walkie-talkie. "Don't know!" I answered. Adrenaline was the only thing that kept my feet going. I knew we'd come in the East Gate, and if the cells were in the center, then if we kept going straight, we were going to find the gate any second. "Keep straight!" I instructed. I saw his head bob slightly, acknowledging my delayed direction. Then Adam cried out beside me, and I stopped short. I reached for his body involuntarily as he pitched forward, nearly causing him to take me down with him. My left hand was soaking wet from where it had landed on his shoulder. I winced as I tried to steady him, not daring to look at what I knew would be a pool of blood in my hand. ☁ Now that they have a new ally on their side, they're looking to change the United States for good. At some point, they want every camp freed and every teenager home safe. But each new camp brings an endless supply of new challenges. Things are beginning to spin out of control. Follow each of them as they discover who they are, who they love, and more of their country's secrets than they could ever dream of in a thrilling trilogy told from all five points of view.
Someday - A Short Story by HowlEngel
15 parts Complete
Life was dull, boring, and mechanical. I’ve always wondered if this would change. If something interesting will happen. I always hoped something interesting will happen. A falling meteor that would destroy half of town, an alien invasion, or even the Apocalypse. Anything, just to relieve me of this monotonous life I lead. “Urgh,” I groaned as I reached over to turn off the alarm clock that sounded like a hundred sirens in the early hours of dawn. The golden sun hasn’t come out to expel the surrounding darkness yet. I figured it would take an hour more or so for the sun to show its shining face, so I decided to eat breakfast and take a bath first. But little did I know that today was the day that my life would change. It was the day I met her. ---------- A short story. Hey guys! This is my first try writing a pure romance story. I hope you'll like it. :D This story will be rarely updated, since I'm busy with school and stuff. So, sorry in advance. ~Just Perfect EDIT: As of 03/29/14 (arranged in this order: dd/mm/yy), this story has deviated from its original "pure romance," into something worth delving deeper into. Quite interesting. And because of this... "something worth delving deeper into," I have decided to continue the story with a PART TWO! Though that will have to wait until after Exile. Or maybe when I get tired of Exile and hope to continue this again. But either way, there WILL be a part two for those who want more zoophilia. Cheers! 03/31/14 (again, in the dd/mm/yy order): Added a simple cover. Will be using this until I am able to draw a better image resembling both of the girl's forms. August 6, 2014: New cover. I like it.

Two broken souls in the midst of a crazy world. Two souls running away from their past. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel was cracking, slowly closing in. When these two connect, as if they were set on the same path, light creeps in through the cracks, and for or a moment, the tunnel seems to have a way out, but what if it collapses before they make it? - "You saved my life." The words come out as a whisper, I've been dying to say that. I thank god every day that he came into my life when he did. "Fuck Vivian, you don't know how much I needed you." I tear up just a little as he speaks, I don't know the last time I cried happy tears. I bring my hands up to cup his cheeks, resting my forehead against his. "No matter how much I push, I don't mean it. Please don't give up on me." My words seem to relieve him in some way as I feel his shoulders relax. "Even when I'm gone, I'll be by your side, forever." He brings his hand, sticking his pinky out. "pinky promise."I wrap mine around his, placing a kiss on his lips. Warning before you read!! This is my first book! This book will contain topics of SA, eating disorders, and mature content, if any of these things may bother you in anyway, please scroll! I hope when I finish this book I can public a clean version, with a different perspective leaving out these topics, but for now, this is how i've envisioned this story to go! Enjoy -Ash🌸

"Don't leave, Annie. We can figure this out." I'm begging and just when I think she's going to give in, she turns and starts to walk away. I can feel my heart breaking as she takes step after step. "So that's it, you're just going to leave? You can do better than that, Annie. Go ahead, yell and scream. Tell me that you're too fucked up for this, tell me that I'm too fucked up for this. Say that we'd never work and that you don't love me. I dare you to say something, Annie. Say something real and stop hiding your feelings." She stops walking and I feel bad for saying what I did, but I had to dig deep, I had to get through to her, to let her know that I'm not letting her just walk away from me, not like this. She doesn't turn back though. After a few seconds, she continues walking across the field towards the parking lot. At this point, I have nothing left to lose. "Dear Star" I shout just loud enough for her to hear half way across the field. She stops dead in her tracks, the bag falling from her shoulder. --------------------------------- Annie is consumed with guilt, she's punishing herself for something that wasn't her fault. Her little brother, River, is dead and her family is falling apart. She is falling apart. Her only outlet is her blog, where she pours all of her thoughts anonymously to the universe. Ian is consumed with guilt, he's blaming himself for something that had to be done. Annie and Ian are unlikely friends, but they have more in common than they think.

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?
The Wish of a Broken Heart by LovelyLotus84

They say, "Be careful what you wish for." They say, "There's truth to every story." They say, "Karma's a B***h." A heart's wish is a powerful thing. But magic doesn't exist. Or so I thought. Now, a troll has found me. ************* Cara I can't... It hurts... Why? Am I not good enough? Not pretty enough? What did I do to be betrayed like this? I feel numb except for the gaping hole in my chest. The darkness starts creeping in. I wish... Heavens how I wish... Friday June 13th I don't know when, how, or why I ended up where I am, but here I am. As insane as it sounds, I am no longer on earth. I think. Maybe I'm dead. Or maybe I'm in a coma! One where I can feel a hell of a lot of pain and new scents are being created? Maybe, just maybe, I should have listened to Grandmother's crazy stories of magic in our blood and being careful what we wish for. They don't sound so crazy anymore. All I know is I'm on the ground, can't move, staring up at an impossibly blue sky through broken branches of trees I've never seen before. That's saying a lot. Botany is my favorite hobby. I think I have internal bleeding from falling through the three-story tall trees like a pinball. My only regrets are knowing my Mum will be in a panic, won't quit searching, and my sweet American Pit Bull Terrier, Nimuë, fell through with me. ************* Tavirian Our laws are clear. If we find any creature wounded past the point of healing, we kill them. It's a mercy. We've gotten a reputation for being ruthless and cannibalistic because of it. Hundreds of years ago, perhaps, but not anymore. I'm still a monster. I'm on my ancestral pilgrimage to present the spirits with my potential brides. I'm not thrilled with my options. My mate is out there, but the elders are pushing me to take one of our Tribe. When we come across a nearly dead, tiny human and her creature, I can't kill them. Especially now. I can use the pilgrimage to save them for now, but I'll need help.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

"I have a proposition for you that will benefit the both of us" "I don't want to hear it!" "Yes you do I know deep down you want to save the farm and your home" "Are you stupid or just deaf? Get out of my apple orchard and off of my land now!" I growl trying to not let his annoying presence distract me from work "Not till you listen then I'll leave" I continue to ignore him "I'm going to take that as a go ahead to speak, I liked that idea you guys had-" "Summer in exchange for saving our farm?" "Yes except I'd like to add my own terms is that okay with you?" "I suppose" I grumble "I want a fiancé in exchange for the farm, so I can please Mum's last wishes, that means staying at my house with us and staying the night, being seen in public with me, hanging out with me etc a normal relationship and of course satisfying my manly needs" copping the phrase he had heard Summer use "Summer would love that" I mutter "That's only my first term, my second term is I don't want Summer" he states gruffly "You want me to find you a fiancé surely being the great David Lawson that shouldn't be too hard" I snort as I start to climb down the ladder but I miss a rung and I'm about to fall to my death, okay that's a bit dramatic, a few metres. My fall of a few metres is cut short by David who catches me in his arms holding me firmly to his rock hard chest "I don't want Summer or some random town girl, I want you Maddie" he murmurs huskily into my ear sending a wave of desire through my body that disgusts me. I fight out of his arms till I'm on my own two feet. The rich douche wants me and I have a feeling this won't bode well for me. * * An excerpt, like it? Try it😌
