Dark Bloom

This is a cozy magical realism book set in the lush Appalachian forests of West Virginia, where we encounter Rusty, a hardened and cynical war veteran who is running away from his past. He soon finds his new home has more to offer than meets the eye, as he encounters an otherworldly creature in the woods surrounding his cabin. He finds himself on a magical journey of self-discovery leading to the ultimate realization that death and life are inseparable components of the human experience, and allows himself to have hope in who he is, and for humanity, for the first time.
