Amethyst was a sweet kid as she remembered, she was nice to everyone other than bullies. She frequently stood up to the two mean boys at her school who would tease her best friend, Benjamin Mantle, for simply being her friend. He gave into peer pressure when they started junior high school. He became friends with William and Jeff and forgot all about Amethyst after he fell sick.
Years pass and Benjamin Mantle, fully recovered, meets with his childhood best friend again only under terrible circumstances.
This story takes us through Amethyst's confusion and Dr. Benjamin Mantle's one regret in life. They begin to remember together.

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same.
