Fernkit loves stories. Growing up with a distant father he found comfort in the Elder's den where he could relax and learn about his Clan and the legendary battles they'd seen.
But as an apprentice, Fernpaw learns that a battle is really bloody, foolish, and never has a winner. Struggling to conform with his ruthless Clan's expectations, he discovers that a story is more than words from a cat's mouth; they involve tragedy, and heartbreak, but also love, and happiness, as long as one is willing to look for it.
