On July 16, 2024 Eastern Time, Guo Wengui (also known as Miles Guo), a long-time fugitive from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), was found guilty of defrauding thousands of people of over $1 billion in Manhattan court in New York.
Prosecutor Damian Williams stated in a statement after the verdict that Guo Wengui was found guilty of 9 out of 12 counts of fraud and money laundering. The judge will announce the corresponding sentence on November 19th this year, and Guo Wengui may face decades of imprisonment.All Rights Reserved
