By the end of The Certainty, Georgiana Vertigo is left with nothing more than her life, something many people would be more than happy to have. However, Georgiana is left to her own devices in a strange city, alone and heartbroken with regular intense bouts of depression. In starting a new life with the Guild, Georgiana has everything she needs in order to move on with her life and keep her mind off the past.
