Emory is a quiet girl. She stays mostly to herself and spends a lot of her time with her best friend Billie. She's been through a lot in her life. Losing her mom at a young age and then being raised by an alcoholic father has been far from easy. She is currently a psychology student and hopes to go into the field to help people who have had similar struggles to her. Julien is a part of her band Boygenius with her two best friends Lucy and Phoebe. She is pretty reserved until she's performing. Emory and Julien meet while attending the same party. Julien was there to perform, and Emory was just dragged there by her friends. What the two don't realize is they both grew up in the same area. They've never crossed paths, until now.

~vessel of brightness, come make me blind~ - Lydia Noelle was a violin virtuoso. A friend of Lucy's from a few tours in the past, though she neglected to tell her about the massive venue upgrade whenever she did enlist her help to fill in some of the violin parts for Boygenius's latest tour. The first time she had seen Julien Baker was Brooklyn Steel 2018, where she had half the amount of tattoos and and over double the level of nihilistic traits. The last time she had seen Julien Baker she had left her crying on New Years. Now Julien is fresh out of a three year relationship with love being the very last thing on her mind. She swore off of it whenever she hit a tipping point with her addiction, not to mention a shittily drawn hand of mental health issues as well. The only thing she needed to focus on was her recovery. Recovery and music. What if Lydia is both of those things wrapped into one though? ~ A hallmark-esque second chance romance told in a combo of flashbacks and present day.
