Before pollution had plagued and shaded the sky, stars lit it up by the millions. So much so, that the sky one knew was not blue with specks of white, but rather white with miniature blue breaches.

Being in a separate part of the war, your loneliness became more prevalent. The only thing that kept you from going insane was the constant reminder of your old comrades.

You pictured Reiner's face when you had trouble going to sleep. You imagined his arms wrapped around you again like that one time. You used him for his warmth.

Unoccupied with anything, your mind stayed on him. Seeing him get hit the way he did was your excuse to go searching to see if he was okay. Your thoughts were zoned out as you walked down the hall. Someone came out from the door.

They both stopped in their tracks.

"Hi," you say, your eyes wide open.
