In light of the access to their data, a number of OSRS players using third-party clients blame the developers of these clients whenever they lose huge amounts of OSRS gold to hackers. These "hackers" are, as you might be the creators of their game client.

On the other however, such claims frequently can't be proved and a lot of players have lost their money to absurd RuneScape scams and are embarrassed to admit that. However an entity from a third party that has the ability to access your accounts poses a danger, however minor it might be as it allows for speculation.
