ABERDEEN, 2017. Siblings Remy and Otis Falkner are the very epitome of an inseparable bond, going beyond the standard definition of what it means to be one's keeper. That is, until an astounding revelation shocks their family following the death of their mother; Remy was the victim of brutal childhood assault, and the only evidence left to back their claims is the decaying paint on their walls, a silhouette haunting their dreams, and a foggy portrait of a starry-eyed man. Having no other choice, the remaining Falkner household members--and local residents--are forced to divide between supporting them or disowning them for good.
Left to pick up the pieces of a now-shattered home, young Otis decides to look into the allegations for himself. But his initial doubts skew the very reality that he has designed for himself and Remy, whose keen eyes notice Otis's lack of faith. As their relationship fractures, so do the promises that once held their childhood together, prompting them to question if their foundation was truly as solid as they were once led to believe.
