A guerrilla is not like a soldier, fighting and shooting because someone said so. A guerrilla fights, because they want to. But being a guerrilla doesn't mean just being able to shoot. Being a guerrilla means being able to fight with elite troops with nothing. This book is about being a good guerrilla. About being able to craft weapons from scrap, about getting people on your side. About taking back your home from a tyrant.

Being different biracial was hard enough in this time and age. Try being a half-breed. Ya, that's right. I said it. Half breed. Half human and half alien. I won't go into how I was made, but I can say that I wasn't able to fit in either world. Sure, I had lived in a place counted as home, but I didn't belong. I wasn't like them. I was their weapon, something that could protect the world from the alien race that tried to destroy them. Would I choose to live with the people that I had grown up with and be a weapon? Or would I choose to be the prisoner because of what my parents did? I mean, I didn't ask to be born, but I was made. And, I chose to protect the world that was trying to be taken over. Just for the kids, though.
