Life. Such a fickle thing. Many take it for granted. Hope. A light in ink black darkness. Acceptance. So important yet so underrated. Alex's life was bound to be short. That was a fact she knew. She had no hope as to her, hope was simply an illusion that disengaged people from the glaring and heartwrenching reality. Acceptance? That was something she very much had. She accepted her lifespan, her loneliness, her nightmarish Past. Despite her acceptance she longed for a normal life at least until her death. Scratch that. She longed for the illusion of a normal life. She would be happy even if it was just for a month or two because despite not longing for much in life, once she sets her eyes on something nothing can stop her. She will get her happiness. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more.
