Will smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling. "We've reached a stage in this relationship where I'd bare my throat to make it easier for you to slit."

Hannibal was left speechless. He simply stared at Will as he continued.

"And do you know what I'd do with my final breath, Hannibal?" Will spoke, his voice dropping to a mere whisper.

Hannibal shook his head, leaning closer to hear properly.

"I would apologise for ruining your expensive teak floor."

Hannibal huffed, his lips quirking upwards, his fondness for the profiler growing with the second. "They are actually zebra wood."

Will had previously believed they'd be running away together, as 'friends', but instead, Hannibal left the mentally derailed man to lay in his pool of blood on his home's floor. But the story doesn't end there. After recovering, Will actively seeks out the serial killer, hoping to express his forgiveness towards his elder and confess the feelings he'd kept buried deep within himself; until recently, that is. As the feelings begin to bubble over, the need to tell Hannibal how he feels grows stronger.
