"Why can't you ?" he says, still holding my hand, his face just an inch away from mine, so close that I can hear him breathing.

He smiles, wearily, but he does, "That's okay Kiya. It always has been. Let's go."
I stare at him for a second, "Your eyes."
"What about them ?" he says, as if nothing happened.
"Nothing." I smile back, wearily, but I do.
And he walks me home just like he normally does. He smiles just like he normally does, talks like he normally does.
But his eyes...when he looks at me...
His eyes don't reflect mine anymore.
