After their stepfather dies, the remnants of a family take the only known financially stable refuge they can. The first sons of the widowed mother are unfortunately treated less than equal for a trivial reason, and the firstborn twin writes about his experiences down in the prison they call the basement. Unbeknownst to them, this diary will prove to outlive its time in the best, and further make its mark on the "perfect" future the twins sought to have. The permission to keep their normal future intact is entirely dependant on their abilities of coming to terms with the past they push and pull daily. [Wrote this after reading Flowers in the Attic.
