In Minnesota, A 22-year-old widowed veterinarian Alejandra Stevens is coping with the loss of her husband, her brother, and her father in law who died in a construction accident when they saved the teenager from the collapsing part of the building. Alejandra takes care of her pets alone while working as a veterinarian at home.

She meets a handsome Afro-Native man Calian Armstrong who snuck into the saddle and was a former marine, they became good to each other as strangers until things in their relationship starting to blossom with spiritual love, new experiences of nature, and a steamy lovemaking.
