In all Honesty, Zuko hadn't thought much of Mai in the last two years. Really, he didn't think of much other than finding the Avatar. Thoughts of home... Well, what good were they if he could never return?
But now Mai is in front of him, irrefutably, for the first time in three years. Even after Azula and Ty Lee have gone off to do whatever it is they do when he's not around, Mai is still standing there, like she has something to say.

A year ago I found myself wondering what happened in the relatively short time between season 2 and 3 that ended with Zuko and Mai Becoming a couple. This was born from that query. I was reminded of it today and decided I might as well post it because it's admittedly one of the better things I've ever written, so why not let it see the light of day? It's also the one and only piece of literature I have made for A:TLA.

What happens when the Avatar makes an appearance? Much like my last story this book will have multiple POV's of most characters. Speaking of the characters they are all young adults, ages 22 and up. I intend to stuff in a whole lot of drama, chaos, fights, sadness and soppy romantic moments so you and I can be thoroughly entertained, I'll try my best. enemies, to friends, to lovers. ______________ hi there. so, this is modern. they still have bending, ba sing se is a place etc. it's just like ATLA except with technology i guess? not sure how to explain it. but we've got zukka because im in love with it, kataang and then.. toph. but there is not firelord stuff or anything like that. i'm editing this 3 chapters in because it followed the plot line better LMAO suki died. i haven't put too much research into when she died, but i'm gonna say this is like a year or so after the last episode of atla. they need to be aged up LMAO sokka is 17, zuko 18. katara 16 and for the sake of the plot aang is also 16. toph is 15. mature content warning. minimal swearing if y'all care LMAO. its slow burn and a lot of beating around the bush. they don't wanna admit anything and sokkas just overall afraid to love again after every woman or girl he's loved has died in some form. minus katara and toph. zukos head over heels you could say, he's realizing what affection really feels like. so this leaves him questioning
