Mason and Andie are soulmates. Intertwined, meant to be, fated, childhood best friends evolved into more. The universe put them together for a reason. But, as we all know, nothing good stays forever.

Andie Bennett is a girl with a bright future. Her teachers would describe her as brilliant, her managers would describe her as determined, and her sister, Melody, would describe her as a miracle. Her mom would... well, her mom wouldn't describe her as anything, seeing as how she's an alcoholic with a tendency to disappear. The only good thing in her life, other than Melody, is Mason.

Mason Hansford had a less-than-bright future until he met Andie. Mason's mom, well-meaning, is more of a helicopter parent than anybody he's met, but he'd prefer that over his dad, who doesn't speak to him. Mason has always acted out. Caused trouble. His police record is thicker than a phone book, but that changed the moment he realized that he loved Andie.

After an accident, their worlds split apart. In one universe, Andie is alive, but her sadness threatens to take that away. Mason survived in the other, but his anger manages to ruin everything he's built since Andie. Their only sanctuary is the treehouse they built. And, when they start to hear each other, it becomes their home. Both Andie and Mason say they'd love each other in every universe, but can they survive living without love?
