Professors | Snape x Hermione

"You're not my Professor anymore and I am not afraid of you!" She exclaimed, her doe eyes wide as she looked into the black abyss of Severus' dead stare. He moved even closer, their chests almost touching at this point; he could almost hear her heart thudding violently against her chest.
A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he scowled down his hooked nose at his former student. She was just as beautiful as ever, he thought, though he had never admitted it to himself before now.

"Is that so, Miss Granger?" Snape asked slowly, spelling each word out carefully. Hermione swallowed hard, as though she'd forgotten how to breathe. Her heart was racing even more now, as the nasty, bully Professor she once feared had her cornered in an embrace of temptation.

"Y-Yes," she stuttered, her eyes flickering over the taller man's face, darting between his black eyes, soft lips and delicate creases of his face. The more she attempted to straighten her shoulders to mask the intimidation she felt, he broke her back down to a slouching coward.

How on Merlin's life did she get here?
